Disney Hotel Discounts
Travel during the "value season." This is when hotel costs, a major portion of your vacation tab, are lowest. Just by traveling during the value season, you can save over 10%-20% off the regular rate and 30%-40% off the holiday rate. Purchase an Annual Pass. Although you are not guaranteed a Disney hotel discount if you purchase an Annual Pass, these discounts are made available throughout the year--up to 45% off the room rate. As a rule, if you plan to visit Disney World for 10 days or more during one year, you can save substantially. Only 1 person in your group needs to hold an Annual Pass to receive the resort discount. Discount rates and dates are usually announced 3-4 months in advance. Your Annual Pass is also good for dining discounts.
Wait for your discount. There was a time when you had to book your Disney vacation many months, if not a year or more in advance, to secure a room. Those days are no longer, except for the most busy times of year. Disney will offer additional promotions during slower times of the year, but often these discounts are not publicized until approximately 2-3 months prior. Special promotions are advertised on Disney's official site.
AAA Discount. If you're a AAA member, book your vacation with AAA or let your travel agent know you're a member and save. The number of discounted rooms is limited, but you can save 10%-15% on your room.
Apply for a Disney Visa. With your Disney Visa you earn rewards with your everyday purchases that can be redeemed at Disney hotels, restaurants and theme parks. And when you pay for your Disney World vacation with your Disney Visa, you get 0% APR financing for the 6 months on select Disney vacation packages. You can redeem your Disney Visa rewards at any time with no restrictions.
Get on the Disney mailing list. Go to the Disney website and register to receive email and snail mail promotions. Disney will create special offers for various market segments or geographic locations, and you just may be lucky enough to get one that works for you.
Deep discounts on Walt Disney World resorts are not as widely available as they once were, now that the travel industry has bounced back after 9-11. But there are still ways to save on your stay at a Disney hotel:
